I picked up a pretty decent Model 745 a few months ago, and it's rapidly growing on me. The problem is that it only came with one magazine, and original standard-capacity mags are spendy, if you can even find them. I did find one on GoneBroker, but it cost me $80 or more before it was over, and I generally keep at least five mags for every semiauto I own. I would have thought that with all the other guns that used the same 45acp magazine that there would be plenty of them around, and more would likely be made even in the present day, but they remain hard to find, and spendy.

Does anyone know of a decent source for them? I have a couple cheap extended mags, but only one works right, the other one won't even stay latched in the gun, and pops out with every shot. Is there a cure for that?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

There are 5 yellow follower 4506 magazines being offered in the classifieds here. They’ve been there a while and are now $50.00 per.

The yellow followers aren’t that carbon stained so the mags are probably in good shape. You can always rebuild them with readily available new springs and followers.

I ran into the same problem finding mags for my 4566. It came with one factory mag which worked perfectly and two ProMags which constantly had feeding problems.
I just kept searching online and gradually acquired 7 more factory mags for an average price of $70. Over time I replaced all the springs with springs from Wolf.
