Magazine follower question

I just bought a used mag for my 4566. It has an orange follower in it. Now I am reading that these may be bad. I see that Midway USA has the black followers for sale. Does anyone know if the black followers will fit in the older mags? I thought I read somewhere that they would, but now I can't find that information again. Any information would be helpful.

The improvement was with the mag tube feedlips themselfs, not the follower. It's just the changes in the tube required a different follower. I never had any problems with the orange follower mags myself, and installing the black ones won't help unless yours are actually worn out.

Thanks, I guess I'll give this one a try and see how it feeds before I decide if it will be a carry mag or just a range mag.
