magazine loading

stayed home today, arms were numb elbow to finger tips. washing dishes all day helped alot..

decided to do the load condition process for my wilon combat mags. 1 7 rounder, and 4 8 roudners.

started the 7 shot, then to the 8 shots. on the last 8 shot i couldnt get the last round in. after the 1st 8 shot it was load 4, wait a few minutes then load 1 round per minute. it hurts.

who makes the GOOD mag loader..

you don't mention your age or any health or physical issues. I'm no spring chicken or in my best physical condition but my higher capacity round mags are still no problem. Technique I guess, they do have some decent speed loaders, but even they take a certain finesse . . . .

That's expensive. But I was loading my PPK 380 with brand new magazines and I couldn't get but five rounds in that six round magazine. And I decided that I was getting old and weak in the fingers.

So I bought the baby version, which I use for my 380s and my 32s. I liked it so fine that I bought the full size version for the 9 mms and the 45s.

I recommend it.



I realized that if I quit buying tactical black stuff, and instead got it in other colors, I might actually be able to find it.

ive seen alot of amazon knockoffs, ones that look like the "baby" bein sold for 45...

is the 45 acp single stack insert a good idea?

you can say i have tendonitis in both wrists. I cant actually work at work without a nice pair of ergodyne proflex 4010 for each hand. and nerve issues in several fingers.

Have you considered the S&W EZ line of pistols? The mags are super easy to load without any accessory being required.

I own a Maglula (Uplula) loading devise but rarely use it anymore. To be honest I originally purchased it when I bought my Sig P365. For the first few months, those mag's were tough on fingers after the first 7 out of 10 rounds. As time went on they slowly eased up a bit. Now when I shoot my P365 I hand load the mag's. The reason is I like to practice loading magazines - may sound silly. The last time I used the Maglula loader was when I bought an 18 round mag for the Sig. Getting the last round or 2 in that magazine is really frustrating. I have left it loaded for a while now so it probably eased up a little.

All the other semi auto's I own are easy loaded to capacity - never use it for them.

Maglula makes the best pistol and MSR magazine loaders. The Striplula loads from either stripper clips or loose rounds. The Uplula loads 9mm, 40S&W and 45 ACP into both double and single stack magazines. Amazon and MidwayUSA plus others have them.
Trying to load the last couple of rounds in a new Glock magazine is tough without a loader. Good luck.

and im seeing the feed lips can scratch up the brass on the last round in the struggle to get it in.

I havent thought about buying a new gun, in a caliber i dont want or like, just because the magazines are easier to load when brand new.

I've been using Maglula's Uplula Universal pistol mag loader tool for years. They can be used with single or double stack mags from 9mm to 45 and work great.
I also use one of their mag loader tools for my M1A rifle mags and another one of their tools for my 22lr mags without the slide buttons and they too work great.

My Beretta 15 rd mags are a breeze to load.
The 12 rd mags for my Sig P365 XL are a major pain. I can get 8 without difficulty, 9 & 10 harder, 11 I have to really work, and 12 is a no go.
The Sig came with this little gizmo. My FFL had to show me how to use it when I picked up the gun. Simple and effective. Still have to put a lot of pressure to get that 12th rd in, but definitely easier on the hand and fingers.
Unfortunately, I have no idea who makes it; it has no markings on it.

The only thing I don't use an Uplula on is 22 rimfire magazines. If they make one for those, let me know. I'll buy one. (I do have a loader for my Ruger Standard)

I have a couple just like yours. Picked them up at gun shows, no idea who made them but they work. Similar to some old submachine gun mag loaders I've had, just slightly different in size.

if my recall is correct the original Glock came with a magazine loader. Haven't had a Glock for a long time and I'm wondering if they still do... anyone?
