The bolt would not stay open after the last shot with Blazer ammo if there was any rearward pressure applied against the magazine. I cut two coils (.050 inch) off the bolt lock spring as per Tacticool22 s post, problem solved.

Magazine wobble was really bugging me, sos I made a experimental tape shim (9 layers blue painters tape .035" thick) and placed it on the inside front of the mag well near the bottom. Magazine no longer drops free of the rifle when mag release button pressed, not a problem in my opinion as I would rather remove and retain the magazine with my off hand instead of letting it hit the ground. Will make a more permanent shim out of aluminum tape or perhaps epoxy putty, but it works for well for now.

If it works for you Smiling Bob that's all that matters.

When I got my rifle the magazine wouldn't drop free and was rather tight, I loosened the mag release one turn and it operated how I like (mag drops and bolt stays back on empty but still doesn't have any significant wobble).

I wonder if the reverse may work for you?

Interesting ...

I've never paid any attention to wobbling magazines. I think all of mine gave up wobbling for Lent.

how much mag wobble were you getting?

Mag moved front to back and side to side aproximately 1/16 inch at the well. Kinda like the clapper in a bell. The tape shim snugs the mag and prevents excessive play, but still allows easy insertion and removal.

I have heard of some useing a strip of stick on velcro (the loop side) for
this purpose....It will work on the mags or the gun or both......best regards Plum

I tried several magazines in both mine and my grandson's 15-22 and I don't get that much "wobble".

Considering that I have had ZERO problems with factory magazines (Plinker Tactical is another matter) I can't see where any slight movement is any cause for concern. I consider trying to eliminate it is another case of a solution in search of a problem. :D
