quick question to those of you that have 3rd gems as well as plastic m&p pistols. does a staggered m&p 9mm stainless magazine fit in the mag well of a 3rd gem? i.e. width and depth wise that is. reason behind the question is because over here 3rd gen magazines are running dry, perhaps with a little tinkering something else might work instead. i have seen 1911 magazines made to fit 4506, and since 3rd gems feed empty cases like its not a big deal really, apparently other magazines could be made to work without much hassle, given that they fit in the well of course. no problem if they extend bellow the bottom of the grip. anyone tried this already? :)

Mec-Gar makes decent S&W magazines. Have you checked their website? Also, the magazines from the 2 digit model number S&Ws should fit the 3 and 4 digit guns. BTW, the M&P mags are not stainless.

You don't mention where "here" is. Numrich/Gun Parts Inc. has most of the parts you need to make mags. Wolff Gunsprings makes springs that will work. The only issue is if they'll ship to "there" and if you can receive them.

If we're talking 9mm, 59 magazines are so widespread, I can't imagine not being able to find one.

That said, Beretta 92 magazines are almost identical. Just need to cut a new slot to engage with the mag release and swap out the follower if you want it to hold open at the end.
