Ok, "Magnum Force" was on last night so I watched, hadn't seen it in years. A couple things bothered me but mostly the ending; now I've ridden motorcycles for over 40 years and can't understand why David Soul's character would've died from the way he went into the water at the end. Bad end to an otherwise entertaining movie (don't even get me started on the Harley engine noise dubbed over the Moto Guzzi Ambassor or the MGs suddenly turning into Triumphs when they got to the docks/ships).

A few other things that bothered me (perhaps I need a life lol): Eastwood wrapping his support hand around his wrist, putting a silencer on the Python and the crime lab guy stating the pimp was killed by a .357 and that who ever did it emptied a whole magazine into him.

Considering the input by Milius I'm surprised, shouldn't be I know it's only a movie, that items like that make their way into the final edit.

Yeah, I'm bored on Sunday night.

And Clint stating he used light 44 Specials in the 29 (the most powerful hand gun in the world), the Cutters recoiled
less than a 357.

Eastwood stated later in an interview, THAT WAS A MISTAKE, in the film.

Well, as some of us might be old enough to remember, David Soul said, well, SANG, "Don't give up on us , Baby"

It was October 1973, when I saw Magnum Force at a drive-in movie. Three days later I was in Udorn, Thailand with one year left in the Air Force. I saw Magnum Force on base sometime after New Years 1974. When I came back home as a civilian in August 1974 the drive in was closed. Oh, those memories.

I liked the series too mistakes and all. We had a couple drive-in theaters here still until recently when one closed down but the other is still going strong. Some of my best times were in those theaters watching B movies with my girlfriends.

The "bad" cops using Colt Pythons didn't hurt Colt's image or the value of a Python.

Firing three shot Magnum bursts inside the aircraft carrier's passageways? Huh? You say something? :)

That was a 38 special. Harry went into the plane unarmed, punched out the hijacker in the cockpit and took HIS 4" Model 10 to go shoot the other hijacker.

Not "Magnum Force" related, but I get irritated listening to the sound of people "cocking the hammer" on a Glock.

I've got the whole Dirty Harry collection.

Maybe I'm getting old, but the whole series is beginning to look a little less impressive to me. There's a kinda 'campy' look to them now.

I wonder if they were released new today, would they earn their 'classic' title. I doubt it.

Later on, near the end when David Soul and the other motorcop are looking for Harry on the old carrier. They light up an area with flashlights then fire 3 rounds.

Considering the input by Milius I'm surprised

Milius wrote the original screenplay, but with Milius committed to filming "Dillinger", Michael Cimino was later hired to revise the script. Its highly unlikely that Milius was even on the set during the actual filming.

One of my associates who probably wishes I didn't remember this story,
Was showing me a Luger that he had just bought.
He toggled that beauty and apparently have the trigger pulled.
It Fired right between our feet into his living room floor. Yes my ears were ringing. And he got a good critique from his wife who was sitting on the other side of the room.
