Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle II

Anyone own one of these. Would like opinions and info.

I heard that they were being imported again - haven't seen one yet. Look pretty much the same as the original except for the rail.

Purchased my Baby Eagle 9mm (full size) around 1996 when they were still IMI, Israel Military Industries. My understanding was that the Israeli Police carried it as their sidearm of choice.

I've had a few offers to sell or trade but won't as this is one my best semi-autos. The butt is small for a double stacked mag similar to a Browning Hi-Power, all steel w/ hammer, & de-cocker/safety. Full size & fairly heavy - a combat piece not a hide-a-way gun (IMO).

Ironically, the 16rd. mags (pre-ban) fit my CZ P-01, with a bit of the mag sticking out.

Nice piece - I'd buy another one.

I live in a restricted state with 10 round capacity. Grabagun sells the Magnum research BE 9900RB BE II 3.6 Barrell Black with Tac Rail for $539.11. Pretty sure its made by IMI as it has the grip emblem.

That seems expensive to me.

I also own an original IMI Baby Eagle and was told the same thing about the Israeli Police carrying it. I wouldn't even consider selling it. I consider this one of the best as well!
