Magpul Miad grip

Does anybody know for if the Miad Grip needs this wedge for sure or would just the Miad grip designed for the AR-10,cLR-308 fit without the gap. Thanks in advance.

I fitted the linked Magpul grip to my Big Smith. It is excellent for me in every way. There is no gap at the beaver tail.

OKStateFan...is that the MIAD Gen 2??? I've read that's the only one that seats properly and leaves no gap.

"Thank you for contacting us. With the grip because it was installed on an AR10 platform that kind of gap will be normal with any of our AR15/M4 grips, for AR10s that run an SR25 back strap cutout we make the MIAD 1.1 type 2 as that has the taller beaver tail to match the taller receiver that SR25 have."

Sorry, I haven't been on lately. It is the Gen2, as you found.

We fixed that...let's find something else that we all need

I'm looking for a hand guard for my M&P10. Not a commando so I don't want to pay half as much as the rifle for a hand guard...more like up to $ 150. Needs to have 1-2 Picatinny rails, as long as 1 is on the bottom. I don't want us to go through the whole vetting process, like we just did with the Grip. Does anyone know of a good hand guard that works the first time? One of us knows...please speak up.

I tried the Wedge with the MIAD and felt it was too large for the space allotted, so I use the MIAD as is.
