Magpul Moe Hand guard

Hey guys I just got a Magpul MOE mid length hand guard and am having trouble fitting it. I put the upper on and the delta ring isnt covering the bottom of the hand guard did anyone else run into this problem / know how to make it fit

Not certain what specific resistance you are meeting, but I had to shave a bit off the fingers that fit inside the handguard retaining cap and the delta ring. After I did that, the guard halves fit nicely. Just measure and go slow.

The guard is on and the delta ring is locked fully back and cant clear the hand guard
Im thinking about shaving some of the plastic but don't want to unless I have to, I feel like I could just be doing something wrong

I think I understand what you are experiencing as one of my friends had a similar issue. He had to reduce the length and the diameter of the sections of the guard that are captured under the handguard cap and delta ring. Use your old handguards as a guide.

Huh, I must have lucked out as mine installed just fine. Wasn't easy by any stretch but I used a tool on the Delta ring which might be key. Good luck!

I just installed my Magpul hand guard.

My friend and I had to cut the heat shield, and dremel the fingers at the gas block down so the hand guard could slide further towards the gas block and then dremel the diameter of flange at the rear so the D Ring would actually snap on over it.

After that, it is on and looks good.

My M&P 10 is the Magpul version but I haven't had the hand guards off to see if they were modified in any way. I would assume that they haven't been. I hope to find out soon though because I see Magpul has a new Slim Line version of the MOE hand guards. I really like the style of the new SL version better but right now it only comes in carbine length. Hopefully they will eventually offer it in a mid-length. Anybody had their hands on the SL version?

I'd say you have...nice! Love the shorty! I like how the SL hand guards cover the top and bottom of the Delta ring and as well as the gas block. Do the SL's seem to be the same quality as the original MOE's?

Yup. My experience is that MagPul does nothing by halves.

I really like the MOE handguards but I like the Slimlines even more

Magpul hand guard on MP10

Just went through the same issue with the magpul hand guard fit on my MP10.

Front of hand guard fit fine, Rear would not fit under rear ring.

Take dremel tool and very lightly remove some of the rear inside diameter as well as the thickness of that groove and it slips right in.

M&P10LE Magpul MOE Handguard from S&W factory

I'm having the same issue, but it's an issue that missed QC at S&W before being shipped out to the retailer for sale.

I just received my M&P10LE from Bud's gun shop and the factory installed Magpul MOE Handguard is NOT installed correctly. Front half is put together correctly, rear half is apart. (Don't get me started on the Magpul MOE hand grip.. yet.. another forum).

The hand guard on this rifle is absurdly difficult to replace. If you don’t have the ring tool you will need assistance to do it and it will involve some slamming into place.

Just snap the handguards into place. You'll have to fight with them a little bit, but they will fit.

MOE pistol grips don't fit the M&P-10 perfectly but they are comfortable and functional
