Do you use regular stuff or their PTS stuff. With the 15-22 do you really need to use the high dollar stuff or cheaper PTS?

I use PTS stuff because i am not in Afghanistan and using my gun to the point the real stuff is designed for. Haven't seen enough diff to spend the extra cash...

Opinions ?

I think it would depend on what part you are talking about. I went PTS on the AFG after seeing reviews and pricing. It's not a moving part so I didn't see any reason to go with the real stuff.

PTS? Are you talking about say Marpul sights? are there different levels of quality?

yes what is PTS and is there different levels of quality?

PTS ~ professional training & simulation
mainly stuff made and designed for airsoft guns. some high quality some not so much.

mostle refering to a set of mbus back-up sights, grips, rail acc.

I use the regular magpul goodies so I don't have to buy a second set for my AR. I can swap as desired within a few minutes.

from the quick search i just did on google, the regular afg and moe stock are actually cheaper than the pts, i have the pts sights and don't like them but i don't use them they just sit on my rifle for looks

The only thing I would get that's not PTS is the sights. I'd want those to stand up and like stated above, can be switched out to the bigger gun in the event thats what you want to do. I bought the MOE so I've already got the real deal, instead of the PTS.

MagPul PTS = Professional Training Series = Airsoft

MagPul = The Real Deal

IMO, a .22lr rifle does not put the same stress on a part as it's bigger major caliber brothers. While I did not buy PTS parts for my 15-22, I don't see why you couldn't use them.

To throw another monkey wrench into the mix...

There are a bunch of knock-offs coming out of China. You'll see them on E-Bay for ridiculously low prices. If the price is too good to be true, then it should set off some warning bells.

I've been able to find some good deals on E-Bay. To lower my chances of getting a knock-off, I limit my search results to "U.S. Only" & buy from sellers with good feedback history.

If a U.S. seller does not specify MagPul v.s. MagPul PTS, I ask them.

Good luck!

I ordered a set of PTS sights, mostly for the looks and the rare occasion that I might want to use the sights instead of my scope. Ordered a set off eBay. US seller. $20 shipped. First set he sent me were kind of crappy...rear sight aperture was canted in the sight at a 15 degree angle. Seller was kind enough to sort it out and send me another set, quality was much better on the second set. Open like they are supposed to, quality seems "good enough" for a 22lr plinking rifle, if I was buying sights for a centerfire caliber rifle I would a)use quality sights like Troy and b)if I was gonna be cheap I would definitely use the "real" magpul sights.

I'm using genuine Magpul MBUS on mine. I want them to function properly, be accurate, and last a lifetime.

Buy cheap, buy twice. IMHO

cool thanks for all the opinions. dont always agree on the buy cheap, buy twice idea, but it is true sometimes.

no harm, no foul for either side of the argument.

Me, i got the PTS back up sights. don't even use them since i have my reddot and it's not like my life saving device so IMHO should do everything i need.

as for other parts, there is a lot of accessories for "airsoft" that will transfer over. if your willing to put a can on the front to "look" like silencer why not get the cheaper "look" items and have a cool looking gun.
