Don’t know about that but I was given my officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, & captain badges in a shadow box when I retired in 1997. Also have a captain’s badge marked “Retired” for my wallet, but it’s just kept at home. It makes the wallet too fat.

Emmy Lou Harris played at the NM State Fair in '81 or '82. We (NMSP - we had to police the Fair) were warned she'd grab a badge right off your chest given a chance and not give it back. We lost none, but didn't take any chances.
