Well I am back in here again with another 15-22 question. Now before we get started let me tell you a bit about the rifle.

obviously its a 15-22 with the Slide Fire kit including the CMC trigger, the recoil enhancer and the slide fire stock with the rubber butt pad. I'm running the rifle bare of all accessories except for a set of Magpul MBUS flip ups for optics and a Valquarsten extractor.

My problem is that almost every time I go to dump a Black Dog 50rd drum the darn thing hangs up and doesnt do a full dump. I can dump factory 25 round mags and about 50% of the time I can dump 35 round Plinker Tacitcal mags but the extra weight of the 50 rd drum seems like it's just a little too much for the rifle.

For ammo I use Remington Golden bullets and CCI Mini Mag HP. These seem to be the most reliable ammo to bump fire out of my particular gun.

For a hold I tend to either lightly hold the very bottom of the drum or magazine and lightly push forward to get the bump fire started or I will use the hand guard and lightly push forward while allowing my hand to slide under the rifle.

So with all the perticulars out of the way I started to fix this situation by removing the butt pad to loose a little weight but I dont expect it to help as this weight is on the butt stock and not on the actual moving rifle. I also want to cut down my barrel shroud to loose a bit more weight but does anyone have any other good Ideas on how to get this thing to realy zing.....

Maybe if I shoot a hotter round, something like the Aquila Interceptor it will pick up the fire rate a bit. Or I guess I could always go SBR and loose some barrel weight. Input please...

There's a recoil enhancing muzzle brake that should get it running ok. Also ditch the Remmy ammo, not for this issue, but just in general!

I think I have an answer for your particular problem.

If you send me the stock and enhancer, I will put it through some rigorous field trials and testing and then feedback to you the outcome. :D

I will of course pay shipping etc.

I will try it with my shortened barrel, with and without the enhancer as well as with and with out a sound moderator on it.

I'm sure this will give you a comprehensive and thorough set of data to work out the best way forward for yourself.

Did I mention I live in the U.K.???
:D:D:D

OP said in the first couple of sentences; "the recoil enhancer" so looks like he covered that already...?

Rob:D....and i could lend you one of the recommended CMC

triggers;)

keith:D

.......and i would gladly give my time to watch the proceedings to make sure that all tests meet the criteria. I could also make a video recording of the tests to see that we are not just having 'fun' which is a no-no in the firearms community but that we are actually doing scientific research data collection. ;)

OP, I remember reading on another thread you were doing some ammo testing. Are the ammo you are using the ones you found to be accurate on your rifle? Maybe you should have done or do another test to find out which ones would cycle well with the slide fire kit installed.

A suppressor or extended barrel would amplify
the recoil impulse.

Not familiar with 'recoil enhancer'...if you're willing
to try it, lightening the bolt/other reciprocating mass
might help.

Don't worry about getting the slide fire to run perfectly. The novelty wears off very fast anyway. I was one of the last lucky ones to get the kit for $167 a couple years ago. Have you tried lubricating the buffer tube at all? I haven't noticed anyone else pointing that out yet. You have mentioned the recoil enhancer and the trigger, as well as light weight sights. I was actually able to run mine with a Nikon p-22 2-7 in a Burris pepr mount. Have never tried it with a trs-25 and lighter key mod rail from tacticool. Yet. Have fun and keep trying. Maybe a little cooking spray on the buffer extension will make a world of difference

What charging handle are you using? If you have a first gen NLA that will definitely make the entire rig stop. The bolt drags on the charging handle. IF this is a possibility try the stock poly ch.

For me this never "wears off". CCI AR Tactical is the ammo to use if you seek perfect Black Dog Drum Dumps as fast as Full Auto

Correct, I did also do it on the Bump fire system and for my rifle Remington Golden Bullets and CCI Mini mags ran the best. I havent tried the Aquila Interceptor due to cost but I may have to start using the pricer ammo. I have tried CCI AR Tactical and it certainly didnt function like that video. I may have to try it again.

Ill try the cooking spray but I generally run my gun clean anvery lightly lubed. See "not wet"....

Forgot to mention I run the MST Ambi Handle.

I agree 100 million percent. I could never get tired of shoooting this thing. Iv had my slide fire longer then that poster and Im still not bored.

I have tried CCI Tactical several times but it doesn't seem to shoot as well as the CCI Mini mag or remington golden bullets in my gun. I know everyone hates remington golden bullets in these guns but I bought my gun used and the previous owner told me the gun loved them. He also gave me about 300 of them to try out with the gun. Today I have a stockpile of about 5000+ .22lr golden bullets. I use them through the year and refill my ammo can when I get the opportunity. With about 26 total types of HV ammo I wouldn't be shooting these if the gun didnt truly love them.

I thought Suppressors slowed down the bump fire...

They increase back pressure, or sustain pressure in the bore longer. Looking up the 'recoil enhancer', it's trying to do something similar to a can--but not as well as suppressor does, because it would cause a db reduction, with all the legal complications that comes along with db reduction.

Examining the moving/contacting parts of the stock assy and smoothing/deburring plastic parts might help, too.

So you guys caught me lol. It is always fun. I was just running out of ammunition back then. it is still very hard to get locally for me. I don't go out of my way looking for any. I just buy whatever I can whenever I see it on the shelf. As I recall American Eagle 36 grain ran the best for me. I would like to try the stock on a "real" ar but mine came from the factory with a magpul prs stock so a no go there. I want to buy another 15-22 for my little girl but mom says not yet since she is only 16 months old...
