It's some closure for the victim's family.
The perp will soon be up for review by the supreme judge.

Regarding the first remark. This is not true. Many of the victims family that were alive when the crime was committed would by now be dead. Many of the currently remaining relatives would not have been alive at the time and never knew the victim!

As to the second remark, very true but not soon enough! His chances of being alive to attend the first hearing, which is scheduled on Valentines day next year, are probably less than 50%. That would be a shame, not!:D:D:D

The deceased still has descendants who wonder who killed their grandfather, Uncle or whatever relation he was. That is closure.
I know I would.

Well...If he makes it that far and they find him guilty...He won't have to pay for a nursing home...neither will his grandkids...er...great grandkids

A life sentence will be a short-term sentence. Three hots and a cot, with food and medical care.

If the process gets as far as a conviction,it may be ruled that a prison sentence is not “in the public interest”, especially given the current overcrowding in British prisons. He may also not be considered a threat to the public because of his age.

Even a young man of 92 deserves due process especially on a 57 year old crime. Let's not assume guilt, the same constitution with the Second Amendment says so. It is getting to the point where the accusation is tantamount to a conviction.

At age 92 it almost seems to be an academic exercise.

I kinda wish they said exactly what evidence linked him to the murder 57 years ago. Just asking for a friend.
Seriously, he had to be a sick individual at 30 years old. It’s not like she was a 75 year old cougar; they showed her picture. They caught him. Good. Not our government, but are they going to really waste money on a trial? Just keep him in jail and postpone his trial until he drops.

Probably a relative of the perp sent their DNA to Ancestry.com or 23 and me and it showed they were a close relative. It was a quick process of elimination then. It happens frequently.

It's in England, not the US. Entirely different rules.

I hope they convict him & then turn him loose. Then I hope the poor woman's relatives happen upon this toad one dark, rainy night in a lonely alley.
