I was given this press by my brother, he had used it up until this past spring. He had never used some of the accessories like the primer installer. I'm curious how it works and how well it works. I've checked the RCBS sight and not found anything other the JR3. It looks similar but all that I've found posted there is a parts list. Can anyone direct me to a source for a manual for this old press? Thanks for any ideas. Terry

I have had a Jr since the 70's and it is still going strong. I probably have the paperwork somewhere and could copy it for you if you can't find any.

The link for the 'RS or JR3 Press' on the RCBS website has a 6 page manual - there's not much complication to these presses.

I have a JR3 from the mid-70's with the tube feed for primers. They work fine, but aside from a progressive press, the ideal way to prime cases is with a hand held primer tool. It's faster, and, you can prime cases whilst sitting in the LaZBoy :)

Just FYI if anyone is interested. After attempting to call RCBS mulitple times and getting a busy signal I sent an email. I received a reply quickly enough directing me to the manual for the JR3 as it and the JR2 are very similar. A short time later they sent the JR3 manual as an attachment.

I have a hand primer but am a "I wonder how that works?" kind of guy. Thanks for the feedback.

I just picked up a Jr. 2 press among a big box of reloading supplies, It was thrown into the deal and I don't know anything about it.I'm going to use it for sizing my cast bullets, so it will do. Thanks for the advice as one part and the manual are missing.

SPU,

Why are you using a reloading press to size cast bullets? Why don't you use a bullet Sizer Lubricator like a Lyman 4500? Or are you using the Lee Push Thru Sizer die?
