427xxx looks to be about 1926, so 489xxx maybe the early 1930's ?

Serial number 490162 was shipped Dec. 26, 1928.

ac4142, One clue as to when your gun was made would be the grips. If they are original to the gun, then they will not have medalions, as all guns made between approx. 1920 & 1930 came with non-medallion grips. After 1930, the medalions were again added to the grips.

hi opoefc, this gun has black roundbutt hardrubber grips. the barrel above the ejector rod end has one cut instead of the earlier 2 cuts.this is the I frame revolver.what do you think? thanks again
