I bought a MR73 5 1/4 inch earlier this year and really like the way it shoots. Took delivery of a MR 73 3 inch, have not shot it yet.

How in the heck could you have not taken it out to shoot? Nice gun, you will enjoy it. Your 3” is kinda rare. Really wanted a 5” like above but a 6” came into my life at a reasonable price. Lucked into another in .32 long recently, was the only bidder. Should start a Manurhin Mr73 collectors association. Both are amazingly accurate, Larry

Looks great, why are you delaying your shots !

Sounds like a fun group but don’t go on Facebook. Too bad a forum doesn’t have a MR73, Korth etc section or higher end revolver. Out of all the 38-357 revolvers I have the Manurhin is more accurate for me. Have to adjust the trigger on the .32 and make it close to the sweet trigger on the 38. Larry

Larry,

that's interesting. While I absolutely love my Korths and cherish my MR73s, they will offer no real advantage over my old S&W K-22, S&W 14-2 or S&W15 when it comes to accuracy.

Even though Raymond Sassia had the MR73 developed especially to come up with a better service revolver than the S&W 19, the 19-3 RS and MR73 service shoot also pretty much the same for me. I have to say that the MR73 is better made and finished than any post-war S&W revolver, just as the Korth is better made again than the MR73, especially on the inside.

Congratulations, 2 MR73 is better than one.

I don’t know if it’s intrinsically more accurate than a S&W or a Colt Python, but I shoot it better than any of my other revolvers. Then again again I don’t have a Korth (yet)

And the my shooting buddy has an original Manurhin made 5 1/4 inch. I keep pestering him to sell it to me.

Great idea~ We have a good start with just the few of us on this thread. I am not a member of it, but maybe the Beretta Forum would be the right place for a sub-section start.

Do they still offer models with fixed sights, and are any being imported?

~

I've heard a lot of great things about Manurhin and Korth, but I just can't get past the appearance of them.

Interesting ~ I took a group picture of mine along with two of my S&W's in the wild together. Since supposedly the MR73 was supposedly based upon the S&W Model 19, I kind of see the familiarity to Smiths. Take a look and see if you can now get past it. If you can't, then you just, well, can't.

Thanks, but I guess I'm just stuck in my ways. The model 19 was the first revolver I bought, and I still think it is the most beautiful revolver ever produced.

I may not know much, but I know what I like.:)

"I know what I like." Always good to hear a person make this statement.

I think the French loved the Model 19 too. This was the reason they were using it and copied it with the MR73. They just needed it more robust to meet their requirement.
