I have a Marbles knife with 5" blade, leather handle and leather sheath. Can anyone tell me about Marbles, are they still in business, are they collectible? Only markings are, Marbles, Gladstone, Mich. USA Thanks
They are still sell a "Marbles" brand I bought a 2 blade folding hunter that looks like a Case except it has bone handles and is made in China they also sell a leather ringed solid blade hunting knife that looks very nice, but still China. Jeff
I have been a knife collecter for many years now. Older Marbles knive have decent value. Some photos would help but have to tell you that there are few 5" leather handled Marbles that have any great value. Most sell for @$40-$50. What brings high dollar is long bladed knives with stag handles. Leather handles were the "workmans" knives thus many were built.
If you care to see what the China bone handle folding hunters look like enter this # in ebay 310333869387 and one like mine will come up except mine has green jig bone handles. Jeff
Man, I have a real nice Marbles that belonged to my Grand Dad. My Dad gave it to me before he died. I still use it for deer season because it stays sharp until you are done cleaning unlike some of my more expensive and newer knives. The only thing that I have to be careful with is the fact that it don't have a very large hilt and the leather handle gets pretty slick when bloody. I couldn't get photobucket to work so I'll send the only other pic as a thumb. I have the original sheath. The 65 also goes to the deer woods with me
Peace,
Gordon P.S.

I think that stands for Marbles Safety Axe Cutlery Co.
