The wife came back earlier today after going to the Mardi Gras parade here in town. Had a bag full of what they call throws. beads, marbles in a bag, and other assorted stuff. I'm sure many of you have seen videos of the various Krews on their floats throwing stuff to the crowds. Now think on this, people stand in the crowds yelling "throw me something mister" and most of the time they do get stuff thrown at them. Wether or not they actually catch what was thrown is another matter. I believe one Krew in New Orleans used to throw coconuts. Frank

Mardi Gras! Wonderful! Very well remember attending the numerous parades during carnival season. Throws? Most children enjoyed them as well as some adults. I remember the little aluminum doubloons that would sometimes be thrown, those things were good for $.40 off the price of a hot fudge sunday at Dairy Queen!

The Hattiesburg parade starts this morning at 11:00 a.m. I parked my van in a good spot last night and Jr. will drop me and my granddaughters off about 9:30 a.m. on his way to the Jackson gun show. This one is not wild like some of the N.O. parades even though some of the floats come from down there.

Working the Legacy Parade this afternoon. People just go crazy jumping up and down screaming for some beads. The "Zulu's" in New Orleans use to throw coconuts but I don't think they do that anymore.

In a couple of weeks the Pass Christan parade will role and that is always a handful. Lots of drinking and always some fights.
