It’s National Margarita Day!
I almost missed it!
So let’s post up those secret recipes!
In a bit, I will ease into the kitchen and make one.
It will be tequila, fresh lime juice and Triple Sec.
Served with the ice.
The question is-
Where did you have your first Margarita ?
Mine was in Matamoras.

Margaritas are hot weather drinks. Why February?? But cool! I love a Margarita!

I’ll play-
Juice of one lime
One and one half ounce of gold tequila
One ounce of good Triple Sec
Squirt of Agave Necture
Shaken over crushed ice and poured into glass rimmed with course salt.
Enjoy!

Here is mine:
1 1/2 oz 1800 Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 oz Grand Mariner
1/2 oz Cointeau
FRESH lime Juice to taste
4 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
Shaken with ice, strain into salt rimmed glass.

The trouble with a Margarita is they're like eating peanuts, or potato chips, I can't stop at just one.

A good friend of mine would add a little Corona to his margaritas. They were good.

I just use Margarita mix. I don't remember my first one, too long ago. When I was living in Laredo, most Sundays I would walk over the bridge to Nuevo Laredo and go to the Mercado, sort of a Mexican shopping center. There was a plaza in the middle with tables and chairs and a Margarita stand (but they also offered several other drinks like Daiquiris in various flavors) Frozen Margaritas in a plastic cup were a dollar, and they were a real pleasure on a hot afternoon. That was when you could buy a liter of Herradura Tequila for $5, and lesser quality Tequilas for half that.
