Marlin manf date request

just picked up a Marlin Golden 39M this morning. JM stamped in excellent condition. wondering when it was made. SN 22250800. thanks in advance. Lee

Nice. I have a 1958 Golden 39A. Very accurate. I bought mine at an estate auction and among the original paperwork was the factory scope mounting. The top of the receiver on mine was factory drilled and tapped for a scope mount. I don’t think mine was ever broken down for cleaning so it was a little tough getting it apart but finally did. I think there is a video on line on how to do it. If the white bullseye is missing from the stock it can be order on line. Easy to replace. I have a 3-9x32 Simmons scope mounted.

Congratulations on a great 22 rifle.

Lee,
Here are the instructions on breaking down the Model 39 in case you don’t have it. Pay particular attention to the section on securing the ejector while cleaning.

I have a 1981 model that I found at a local gun show about five years ago. These have been posted some time in the past, but here it is again.

Here is the Wolff main spring installed in the action. This is the absolute best upgrade to a Marlin 39A that can be made in my opinion.
