Marxiland -like Commiefornia - is problematic to say the least. Obtaining a CCW is extremely difficult and the times/places during which one can carry even with permit may be restricted. Links to MD Code and CCW application:

I am from MD originally.
Forget any hope, currently, of getting a CCW in MD or using an out of state permit.
I hate to say it, but it's true.
Here in NC, I open carry. In MD, I would be considered a criminal.

Heading south, I go through West Virginia and avoid MD completely.

Unless you are politically connected, own a business that handles lots of cash or are LEO, your chances of getting one is slim to none. Maryland Shall Issue (MSI) and Second Amendment Foundation are trying hard to change this.
