"Mass Shooting" Odessa TX

I don't know all the details, but evidently some bozo started shooting at a Twin Peaks restaurant across from where my wife works. Then he supposedly shot some one in the parking lot of her employer. She works in a pharmacy within a grocery store. She's saying four people have been shot including one DPS trooper. Shooter last seen heading toward Midland on I20. He has not been apprehended as of yet. I must have driven past there just minutes before it happened on my way home.

This may be inaccurate information. It's all second and third hand.

Now they are saying there are two shooters involved. One supposedly in a gold passenger car, and one in a stolen postal truck.

Now local police are saying there are twenty injuries. One shooter in a gold Toyota, another in a stolen postal truck. Evidently one has now been apprehended.

One of my son's friends just texted him that his little brother and stepmom were both shot at my wife's place of work.

Midland Police Dept. says one active shooter is confirmed killed at Cinergy (a movie theater) in Odessa.

Odessa PD now says at least 21 have been shot. Five confirmed dead. Only one shooter involved - white male mid 30s - now deceased.

Did he go to a gun free movie theater thinking the cops couldn't bring their guns inside the theater? Unreal the shooter ended this fiasco at a theater where he was killed. Kind of ironic.
Houston local news just reported 5 dead and 21 injured. It all started for a traffic stop by DPS.

They are saying it began as a traffic stop in Midland where he shot the DPS trooper and fled into Odessa. In Odessa he evidently shot a mail carrier and stole her truck then drove around town shooting people at random.

Yes, it was factually incorrect, but it is what our local police said at the time. We now know that one shooter started in one vehicle and stole another to continue his crime spree.

I texted my sister who lives in Texas as soon as I heard this, and I didn't have the facts. The shooter caused the panic. This is the technology age; we have the ability to quickly notify others of potential dangers. Real or otherwise. There was no undue panic by folks reporting two shooters. If you think there is a possibility yours friends or family could get shot; post that info up.

Thank the good Lord she is OK. Watching CNN as I type this and they say 21 injured and 5 dead and the shooter is also dead. Going to be interesting to find out what his motive was or was he just some sort of a loose nut.
