Ive always been able to shoot it decently but nothing spectacular.

But holding tight groups is difficult due to the muzzle flip for me. With straight magnums its really tough. Hell even my 1000 FPS special load with a 250 grain bullet has a good bit of flip to em.

Ive been keeping at it. Today at 15 yards with my 1000 FPS load. One of the better groupings Ive laid down with it. 6 shots double action.

Want to get a deer with this handgun this year. I also carry this gun pretty frequently concealed

I’d say your doing fine and it’s great to see another 44 guy on here!!!
Have you tried any other grips, I really love wood stocks but shoot more consistently with the older factory rubbers that your gun may have come with
Curious about your mid range load, care to share it ?

We all got "em"...........We don't always talk about "em".............Good solution OP...................

You will find even a 250gr HC at just 900 will kill most things quite fine. Equal to a .357 Magnum with 4" barrels. 460 ft/lb and better penetration at that velocity. And it will shoot right through 'em.

I actually pulled out the rubbers the other day and threw them back on. They are slightly thicker and make the gun too big for me to handle well. These are hogue hardwoods and slightly slimmer. Let's me get my smaller mits around it good enough

This load is a 429421 hollowpoint with 10 grains of HS6. Heavy roll crimp in a special casing. Right at 1000 fps or so.

My 1200 fps load with magnum casings I open up a bit with. They are really tough to shoot well for me

I just loaded some with a light charge of 231 to see what i could do with it. I think blasting some of the magnums a few times ago made me develop a slight flinch with it. Its taken a few range trips with the medium stuff to get me back on track

If you cast a good batch of 429421s, you have something special. I’d put that bullet up against any jacketed bullet. My personal supply of 429421 is just about depleted, and I shoot them sparingly.

7 grains of 231 and a 429421 gives me about 950 in a 4 inch Smith. Mild recoil. Super accurate.

Wow, Chase. I wish I could shoot DA like that. I never was worth a hoot at DA. Never had the patience to stick with it.

Good shooting right there. Has anything been done to the springs, or has it been tuned at all, or is she a stock factory girl?
