Matthew Perry punches out.

Sad, he had a very successful career, and by all accounts I’ve read, he was a nice person. Seems that it’s difficult to be an addict and enjoy a long life. RIP.

News reports say no drugs were found at the scene and there were no indications of foul play. He had apparently been clean and sober for several years. He was not married, but had been briefly engaged to his literary agent. Apparently the women in his life were far more interested in his money than in him. A view of his home shown on the news made it look very modest, at least by Hollywood standards. Surprisingly, so far none of his co-stars on "Friends" have made any comments about his death.

Other than his successful role as Chandler Bing and a couple movies, I don’t much about him. He did seem like a genuinely nice person.

RIP Mathew.

He was worth $90M. He recently sold a condo in downtown LA for over $21M and his Malibu beach home for over $13M. The “cottage” as they call it that he died in cost him $6M. I got a thing for real estate. Always curious where and how people live. Every time I hear Malibu beach house I think of Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men.

I looked it up. Perry bought his (1965) Pacific Palisades house three years ago for around $6M. It is 4BR, around 3000 sf, or approximately $2K/sf. That seem to be about the average $/sf for the area. Article I read said he was still making $3M/year in residual payments. I don't know how that works. Do they stop when he dies, like Social Secutity? Or do they continue to be paid to any designated heirs he might have?
