You are correct, sirs. Oh well, I went around for years thinking Calvin Trillin and Lionel Trilling we're related.

I always enjoyed his performances. He had a lot of talent and I always felt that he was under appreciated. I particularly enjoyed his performance in Deep Impact (the last pic in the OP) with Tea Leone (SP) and Vanessa Redgrave. He was a class act and the movie industry has lost a brilliant character actor.

Did you know that he and Werner Klemperer, were the only two cast members from the Judgement at Nuremberg stage play, were the only two from it deemed worthy to be used in the movie? Those guys were good, very good and I miss them all.

Wasn't Werner Klemperer the guy that played Col. Klink on the old Hogan's Heroes tv show?

Okay Ringo here's a test for ya. What is the name of the very blond actor who always plays a German soldier (Usually a nazi and most unlikeable person) He always has a swollen bottom lip and was in Kelly's Heroes and Where Eagles Dare and a few other that I can't name at the moment.

Your time begins now: tic toc tic toc tic.......

They are two different actors. In Kellys Heroes, the guy your thinking of is another favorite of mine: Karl-Otto Alberty-who was the Tiger tank commander:

The Where Eagles Dare guy your thinking of is British Actor: Darren Nesbit: He played Gestapo Major von Hapen:

Since im being timed here, ill stop here: :D

Yessir! Looks like I am unable to stump you. I hadn't realized that it was two different actors. BOTH of whom I'd love beat with rubber hose especially Nesbit. He just looks like he needs a good ol' Texas *** whoppin' don't he?

Otto looks too evil to just slap and let go. I'd have to plug him. ;)

I always thought it unique that John Banner who played Sergent Schultz on
Hogans Hero`s was 100 % Jewish!

Also on the pics w/ Dieple--he was SUPPOSED to be an Infantry Battalion Commander but, look at the color of the waffenfarbe on his collar tabs and shoulderboards--they arent white-for Infantry--they are cornflower blue-for Transportation. Its the same color for the roll eyes icon.
