A LGS has MaxxTech 9mm, 115G FMJ Brass Cased ammo on sale for 9.99 per box of 50 (limit 10 Boxes). I read some reviews on-line and some old threads here on the forum but was wondering if anyone has any recent experience with this ammo.

I am inclined to buy 500 just because it is the cheapest, I have seen on any 9mm.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

That is suspiciously cheap unless the gun store scored a deceased shooters stash for pennies on the dollar. I would check the date codes on the boxes to see how old it is.

There is a six year-old video on YT showing somebody shooting this stuff from a full size gun over a chrony. 1130 fps for 115 gr ammo is pretty weak sauce.

I think it is Russian ammo noted for being very lightly loaded. I think I remember seeing it on SG ammo several years ago.

I bought 10 boxes four months ago, shot 4, no failures. As good as Fiocchi and the same POI.

That's a good price.

Bought some in March locally. Same price. I only shot about 5 rounds over a chrony...out of a Sig 365 averaged about 1120-1130 or so. All I shot went bang cycled fine out of the 365. I'm not a big 9mm shooter. It did exactly what I bought it to do.

When I read your post I thought you meant Magtech. Before answering I did a search for the Maxxtech and see you did not make a typo - lol

I have not heard of this ammo before, so it's new to me. I guess it's cheap enough to try some out.

My friends recently tried another ammo I was initially unfamiliar with. It's called New Republic and is made in Hungary. After shooting several boxes and really liking the quality and reliability, they bough it in cases instead of boxes from Target Sports. Really good stuff for target shooting. This could be good also. Who knows..... If you do get it and shoot it, please let us knowhow you liked it.

My only issue with New Republic is they do not state the barrel length used to reach those velocities.
