Hi:
Does anyone used Mec Gar Model 1911 .45acp magazines ?
Opinions ?

I've used them and they have worked perfectly in my .45's. Also they get high marks from some of the Colt .45 forum guys.

Mec Gar

I run Mec Gars in my 1911's, I have an ammo box full of them, they are good quality mag's. I also run Mec Gars in my P-92's and P-35's, use them for carry and for training. I have used them for years, and if I needed new mag's, I would buy Mec's w/o hesitation.

Mec-gar are the best aftermarket magazines available. One could argue are they really "after-market" because they make the factory mags for a lengthy list of gun manufacturers. I once called Mec-gar about a particular mag that they make for a company but would not sell it to me (nor was it listed on their site) because of the agreement they had with that company.

I have all Mec's for my Remington R1 Enhanced. I was told Remington's factory mags are Mec's as well, at least at the time I purchased my R1.

Have several. They rival Wilson in every way. But cost less.

I have used them, and they have been fine, but I still prefer McCormick and Wilson better. Not based on any problems, just based on preference.

Mec-Gar make excellent magazines and they made Sig Pistol magazines for many years. I use their P228 15 round magazine in my carry gun.

PS short answer Yes they will work for your 1911

100% correct. Springfield Armory uses as OEM in some of their guns. My Springfield EMP 9mm mags have the Mec-gar stamp on the side. Excellent quality magazines.
