I have the exact same revolver with a serial number that's very close to yours, and mine was made in 1982. I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. BTW, I had to pay quite a bit more than you did.

Now I must get a very nice set of wood grip-Ahrends?, and a good leather holster for daily carry. Shot it this morning with .38's and sweeeeet!

I had Altimont's Checkered, Finger Groove Boot Grips on mine in Rosewood. Moved them from my 2.5" 66 to my 66-2 3" when I got it.
I carry mine in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake with Optional Inner Hammer Shield. Great holster.

I have a pair of Safariland Comp II speedloaders on the dresser that I carry in a couple Safariland CD-2 spring steel Carrier.
You will like it. The 66 Snub is more Shootable than an airweight revolver.
