There's one in the new movie "Bone Tomahawk ", too.

I think Randy Quaid had one in "The Long Riders".

Great examples, guys. And in Bone Tomahawk Kurt Russell carries two Schofields, but that one guy does most the shooting with a M&H. In Godfather 2 the young "Clamenza" uses one, in Tall Tales Patrick Swayze carries a pair of them, even taking them apart in one scene to clean them.

Merwin Hulberts were the coolest guns ever built. It's too bad their DA lock work was not more Durable.

Never found one at a price I was willing to pay. Maybe someday.

I did but I was an idiot. I drove to a mans house to buy an RCBS FL rifle die set that he'd advertised in the big city news parper. I paid his $20 asking price for the dies then for some reason he drug out a hopelessly out of time nickeled 5 shot Merwin Hulbert .38 S&W folding hammer spur DA. He wanted $30. I offered $25. I called him back the next day and said I'd reconsidered and would buy it for $30 but he'd already sold it to a co-worker. This was back when most guns sold through either the big city newspaper classifieds or the Little Nickel Want Ads so prices were lower, but even so, I was an idiot.

So far as I know the lock work on them can not be repaired and every one I've ever handles was out of time but they sure are neat to handle.

There's a guy on a local gun board who advertised one last week for $100. It's about a 85% gun. Someone else offered to buy it before me. That sale fell through, but apparently the seller got himself some ed-ja-ma-ca-shun. He re-advertised it for $700

I am still disappointed that the people who were trying to manufacture new Merwin Hulbert revolvers never did. My son and I disassembled my MH, and he felt that the individual parts were not that difficult to make using modern CNC programming and machines. He has made programs for much more intricate parts. One thing about MH revolvers; they don't fit my hand as well as a Colt SAA.
