Looks like there hasn't been a thread on these for a while, any recomendations? I have never owned one but have had to borrow once in a while to locate property markers and things like that. Maybe some fun "treasure" hunting too, I might find that quarter I lost in the back yard a couple of years ago!.
I'm thinking around $300. If Santa can come up with that.
Ideas, things to look out for good, bad?
Thanks!

I recently bought an Equinox 600 and was able to use it for a week before the weather turned bad and I put it up for the winter. I have a VERY LONG" way to go before I'll be competent with it but I can tell you it works good for finding brass under the leaves :-)

metal detecting can be a good hobby to get into. been doing it whenever I get the change for about 5 yrs. My hardest part is finding the right places to detect on. also you can get a good entry level detector for what you want to spend, try KellyCo metal detector site for a good section and info for what would be the right one for you.
