So this one came to me with a Navy Victory Model yesterday.
(It's mounted on a scrap barrel for the pics).

I've seen several that require you to modify the front sight.
Never seen one of these and Google turned up nothing.
It's stamped "Metro Ramp Pats Pend".
It's specifically made to fit a K half moon stock front sight and the fit is perfect. It clamps on with 2 opposing microscopic allen screws. The sight post also has the same allen screws allowing for a tiny bit of elevation adjustment.

My best guess is that as soon as these were produced, Smith & Wesson dropped the half-moon front sight, making them obsolete. Great idea, but a little too late?

It will physically mount on an N frame, but the bottom contour is wrong of course.

When I get time, I'll pair it with my original "Wondersight" and a 1905 and see how it shoots compared to my various pre-war K target guns. :D

I wish you guys wouldn't be so stingy with pics! :D
Are you saying it has four set screws? It appears so, or are the rear two for the elevation adjustment?
It would be neat to see the inside also....

Screws

Yes, it has a total of 4 screws. 2 to clamp to the front sight base, and 2 to hold the sight post in position. I'll snap some more pics and add them to the post. :)

Neat item.
I bet it leaves a mark, though.
How does the sight adjust- does it pivot, or just slide around till you clamp it?

Amusing, I have a recent (NOS at least) Wondersight on one of my 1905s and I can easily see how a better front sight would be both helpful and welcome!
That's a pretty neat little geegaw you've got there.

New baby + toddler is all consuming, but while the toddler was placated with daniel tiger and food, and the little shark was taking his 15 minute naps between marathon 2 hour nursing sessions, I snapped a few pictures which may be of interest to you.

I learn something new every day here. :D
Very interesting indeed. Paired with a Wondersight on an early 6" M&P, this would make quite a combination.
I'd love to see pictures of it when you get it set up. Of course, we'll need a range report too. ;)

You can find them in the Gun Digest 1957--58. I have one for SAA. It has a red post.

I want one! With my 6” bbl 32 WCF and the Wondersight I already have for it, I’ll be perfectly ready to time travel to 1933. I’ll have to be careful though, ‘cause everybody knows, “that 32-20 will shoot clean through a man!” :D

Froggie,

That “32-20” in the song was a fixed sighted version. Everyone knows they shoot harder.
