Has anyone any experience with the Mic holster for M&P compact or shields? It is made by Glocktech for many models and brands. Looks like a pretty cool concealed carry holster for the minimalist folks. Ideas or opinions?

There's a bunch of different companies making them all with different names, mine did for a short while and might again.

It's basically a clip on cover for the trigger guard and a length of paracord. I have no idea what Versa Cord is, I guess a brand name.

I found for carry, they are really finicky and the draw is never going to be consistent and fluid - even if you get the length of the cord right tied to your belt.

For a bug out bag... perfect. For around the house... great. I have a couple dotted around and attached to something by the lanyard. Makes it easy to grab the gun there is nothing your other hand needs to do.

I got one for my G19 and a Ruger SP101. It's not bad for the Glock. The Ruger is too heavy for it. In all honesty, i dont use it much. I carried my Shield (when i had it) in a PJ IWB kydex. Light as a feather. I still carry a G19 in one.

It might be safer to buy a simple leather or kydex rig you can pop on and off as needed and have some real control of your firearm and not worry about if your handguns going to move around on you during a normal days activity.

I have one on my wife's Glock 26 and have it anchored in the armrest so with a quick upward jerk her gun is ready to go. I feel that as a safety issue particularly with Glocks the trigger area should always be covered until needed.

I use one for my bedside piece as it does not have a thumb safety or sit in a regular holster. Grabbing for it in the dark and possibly catching the trigger made me decide to get one for this purpose. I put enough braided cord on it to make it super easy to yank the thing off. I could tie it off so it's pulled off when I pull on it, but that felt a little too automated to me for this purpose.

They work best off body as stated. The one caveat to that would be rigging one into a bellyband for those times when carrying isn't on the guest list...it is a fantastic combo for ultra concealment.

I've used one on and off again for Glocks since Mitch first started selling them on Sniper's old Glock listserv back in '97 or '98. Excellent product that comes in handy when a full holster is not appropriate.

If you have a Shield with the safety, this product would not be needed.
