Just read on the SYFY site that he passed away at 91
He was one of my favorite non Indian Indians. Also played a Klingon on DS9. RIP!

I believe it was a Police Story episode in which he guest starred as a stickup man who'd mask his looks with a full head of hair and a bandage over his nose to contort his features.

What the cops finally realized is they were seeking a middle aged bald man. Might be the only time he didn't wear his toupee.
Any way, the show made an impression on me, especially after seeing him as Cochise in Broken Arrow and Wayne's Comancheros.

Police Story was developed by writer Joseph Wambaugh of LAPD fame in the early 1970s and helped lead the way for such shows as Hill Street Blues.

He was also "Kang" the Klingon on the Original Series episode "Day of the Dove" and played the same character on a Next Gen episode -- or movie -- the name of which escapes me at the moment.

He was one of my favorite aliens in the old 'Outer Limits' episode "Soldier", 1964. A foot soldier at war from the future is transported to present day (well, at least 1964 present) and has a little eek:!?) difficulty adjusting.

this guy for the last 50 years.
Played a great native-american.......my daugther says I'm suppose to say "injun" anymore.

I remember him as the lead character (Sam Buckhart) in a one-season series Law of the Plainsman. Someone found out I liked it, and that was the end of that. RIP

I also liked the Law of the Plainsman. Ansara and I had a lot in common. I was and still am in love with Barbara Eden.

He played on the Rifleman several times with Chuck Conners. My wife is a big fan of his.
He will be missed.

I had no idea of his age. To me his distinctive voice was more commanding than his appearance.

I remember him and liked the outer limits episode that one was great, I also recall him as a gunfighter trying to talk a young man out of becoming one, in the end the young man decided against it because he showed him where he was shot in the stomach.

He was always a good tough guy actor, RIP

Ansara was a wonderful character actor( early westerns ---to Sci-Fi) with a great volume of work to his credit.

Rest in peace Michael Ansara. I watched him in many movies and always thought his voice was so distinct. If you weren't looking at the screen you could tell who it was just by the voice. Kind of like James Earl Jones.

Left (John Colicos who was Captn Kolath in: Errand of Mercy, William Campbell who was in a few Trek eps (original) such as in: The Trouble With Tribbles--and 1-2 others--and then you have Ansara himself on the right:

Sadly, all three are now gone having lost Campbell about 2 years ago.
