Has anyone been following the TV series "Saving Private K-9" on the Sportsman Channel?

I haven't been impressed with all the episodes but the June 26th episode was good.

If anyone worked in this area it would be good to hear your thoughts on MWDs.

Well, there must be something to them. They've been used since at least ancient Roman times.

At least one breed of dog exists just because of the desire for/need for war dogs...the Doberman.

The Doberman was "created" because the Rottweiler was absolutely useless as a war dog.

I worked at DA level Counter IED-and dogs are one of the best detection systems.
We abandoned many of these dogs in Vietnam-now they have extensive support-and a dog is treated as well as any other soldier.

I felt extreme sorrow when we left the war dogs behind in previous wars after they had our backs in war and saved lives.
They were just 'equipment no longer needed' by govt.
