on my model 17-3 when I try to open the cylinder it will not push out straight without me pushing back and then pushing out is this normal or is there a fix for it ?? thanks

Look for a burr on the end of the extractor rod. Sometimes a small burr there will snag the end of the bolt, preventing it from withdrawing to free the extractor rod. The fix is to lightly stone the end of the extractor rod for a clean release.
