Model 1 1/2 first issue

Well I contacted the seller and asked him a few questions about it. I wished I knew more about these things but I've been burned in the past by jumping on guns too quickly in the past. I hope if It is a good deal and I lose it at least someone here ends up with it.
 
If the assembly number matches on the cylinder, frame & barrel, and it's not a refinished gun, then the $500 asking price is fair. Although this model was made after the Model 2 was produced, S&W boxed themselves into corner when it came to put a model number on these guns. They had the Model 3 in design already, so they decided to call this one a Model 1 1/2. Should have been a model 2 1/2 ! They probably said " In 150 years, who will care?" Ed #15
