model 10-7

I have a model 10-7 that has a sn starting with 3D58xxx it has a different number stamped on the crane then the sn. I was told it was bought from Navy DRMO, everything I find shows 2D to 4D, no 3D sn. Was just trying to find ship date.

Welcome to the Forum.
Your serial# dates to about 1978ish. The other number you see on the yoke (crane is a Colt term) is the assembly number which kept fitted parts together during assembly.

The SCSW has an error on that line. According to Roy, all 3D serial numbers were issued in 1978. Pencil in a change in your copy of the SWCA 3d Edition.
