I have a S&W model 14-4, serial 34K7xxx and wondered if anyone had an idea as to when it shipped.

Thanks!

Can someone decipher the label for me concerning the boxes circled in red in this photo?

Thanks!

Unless the packer was dyslexic and in a hurry. In that case, you have Target Stocks and check marks for Target trigger and Target hammer. Pitchers help. Joe

It does have the wide target hammer and trigger, with the target stocks. A set of Pachmayer grips came on the gun, with the wood grips inside the box.

Thanks! It has a bit of muzzle wear, and a little on the edges of the cylinder flutes, but otherwise is in excellent condition and came with the box, papers, and wrapping paper-- but no tools. Paid $415.00 for it-- perhaps a bit high, but they don't make'em like this any more.

I only recently got bitten by the S&W revolver bug, but have been bit hard! Normally a 1911 fan, I inherited my Dad's Smiths and have really taken a liking to them.

Now I have a wish list going-- a 2 1/2" Model 66, and a 2" Model 63 would suit me just fine I could could find them at a reasonable price.

The model 14 and K38 are under rated revolvers as far as I'm concerned. The Model K38 was the competition pistol of choice back in the 50's and 60's and they were built to be very accurate. The Model K22 was built to the same weight and balance and that was so competition shooters could shoot a revolver in practice with the same feel as their competition revolver. The K38/Model 14 sell for far less then the K22/Model 17 because of cheap 22 ammo and because the Model 14 doesn't shoot 357 magnum rounds. I think they are a steal at todays prices.

Congratulations on the purchase
