All,

I'm looking for a holster that Will protect or not damage the sights On my model 67 when in holster and carrying. Sights could be positioned above the leather or somehow protected. I have a safariland thumbsnap holster for my model 10 but it would definitely pinch the sights. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. I will be carrying while bow hunting and walking the woods so I believe a thumb break or leather strap is important. Heres a pic of my model 10 in the safariland holster.

Thanks

Robert

Look up Bianchi 5bh or their cyclone which can also be worn cross draw and protects the whole trigger Assy as well….I would search for old stock stuff on that big auction site….I do own the cyclone for 4" L frames from the Mexican production and it is ok but doesn't begin to match quality fit and finish as the older stuff which is easy to find…the model for the cyclone is 111…

If you can find one of these used or NOS it would be great. It is a S&W Branded Holster with the numbers 27 34 on the back. Probably from the 1970's or 1980's. It is lined and as you can see it has a "tab" that sticks up to protect the rear sight. I am sure it was specifically designed for the M15/67. My 15-3 from 1974 is in it. I also carry my Model 10 (4") in it also. Might try some of the auction sites on line.

Good Luck

Ask in the leather section. There are lots of options, off the shelf and custom. I prefer custom as they are usually excellent quality, made specifically for your revolver and less money than the factory jobs.

The Galco Phoenix and as mentioned above, the Bianchi Cyclone both protect the adjustable site and cover the trigger guard which I prefer for field use. The Phoenix would be my preference with the Cyclone a 2nd if cost no object… The Cyclone a much better value price wise.

I used holsters just like yours (Safariland Model 29 high-ride, right?) for years with adjustable-sight revolvers on-duty. They protected the rear sight just fine. I never had a damaged sight on any of them.

Have been using the DeSantis Speed Scabbard for around 20 years and find them fast, secure and excellent quality for the price...

They have "ears" that protect the adjustable rear sight...

I have a Hank Sloan style holster for just that purpose.
Attached is a picture. (Not of mine but like it)

FWIW, I also use a Galco Fletch (FL114) for my 67, 15 and Colt Diamondback.
