I purchased a a Model 1917 in excellent condition and just received the factory letter. Shipped Sept 12th 1918 to the US Armory in Springfield MA. The finish only has minimal loss at the muzzle but otherwise the markings nice and clear. Ordinance bomb and multiple WWI eagle heads with serial numbers all matching. Grips with matching serial number in pencil. It’s a heavy one but shoots great!
