Model 1917

Recently acquired this piece. The barrel has been shortened to 4 inches and been rebelled. All the
Numbers match and it has the heat treated cylinder as noticed by the different blue color. There is a stamp under the grip that is in the photos that I can’t quit make out. It is chambered in 45 ACP of course.
And help would be appreciated.

That's a Navy Arms, Ridgefield NJ stamp. That's probably a Brazilian 1917 import.

The difference in color of the cylinder was caused by a re-bluer having the temps wrong. That has nothing to do with the factory heat treat!

The serial number falls into the Brazilian range. The crest could have been polished off during the reblue.

OR, it may have been a commercial sale.

The frame was cut for a lanyard stud. It was filled in or filed off.

The 4” barrel makes it a nice carry piece!
