I own a Model 27-5 which I won in an auction that is missing the S&W trademark. I was told it was due to it being re-blued, but the auction house could not confirm whether it was done by S&W or another party. I do not see any residual/faint image of the trademark. Is it possible to completely wipe off the trademark when preparing for a re-blue? The other stampings on the frame and barrel look just fine. I am not sure if this is evidence of a rework, but there is a "015" on the crane and a number "2" on the rear of the cylinder. The reason I am asking about this is I am considering sending it to S&W to have the trademark stamped and re-blued if necessary due to the stamping. Any information will be appreciated!
