Have I mentioned lately how much I love my 2007 Model 27-8, eight shot, Lew Horton, with a 5 inch barrel? The Culinas are the icing on the cake. Its been halfway around the world and back with me. Thanks for letting me share.

Hard to believe I took that gun (and 4 others S&W revolvers) to Denmark and lived for the last 9 years. Then was successful in bringing them all back through customs with no problems. A word of advice to anyone considering doing that... don't. Save yourself a lot of headache. I did have my original export documentation from the US State Dept and that should have been good enough. But because a contact I had with US Customs said I would need to apply with the ATF to get permission to import them (and pay import taxes on them), I filled out a form 4 and sent it to the ATF from Denmark. Within a month the agent emailed me telling me I didn't need any permits to bring any of those guns back in the US. I asked him to approve my permit anyway so I would have a back up just in case the State Dept export permit wasn't good enough. He said he would but that the model 27-8 was rare enough it had never been inspected by the ATF for import. So the model 27-8 was red-lined off the permit. Luckily customs didn't require anything other than my State Dept documents that they already had in their system. I was very lucky.
