It seems Lew Horton gets the headlines. Everyone stated that only 5000 , super rare . Ok Lew is the one that said make me a round butt 3 inch model 29 with combat grips. But in reality there are quite a bit more 29-3 3 inch round butt revolvers out there. In October 1985 Interstate Arms Warehouse of Northridge California ordered a dozen of them . Is 1 of 12 more rare than a Lew Horton or just what they describe as an overrun?
Computers were just coming into play back then and the Smith and Wesson shipping department weren't the best at record keeping . Some of these 29-3 revolvers have a shipping date assigned to them , shipped to "unknown ".
If anyone has any knowledge of interstate Arms out of Los Angeles let me know
