Model 30 question

I have a Model 30 no dash, flat latch,3 screw, serial number 692xxx.
All I can find in S&W 4th Edition for that serial number is post war 1946-1960.
Can someone give me a better idea on what year it was made and is this an I frame?

That's a cutie. Yes, Improved I-frame (Model of 1953).

I have a Model 31 (square butt, .32) sn 689XXX that probably shipped in '58 so I'm guessing yours to be '58 or '59 since those two models followed the same sn series.

One of the experts will be along to help with more info on yours, I'm sure.
