I recently picked up a Model 36 Chiefs Special Sn 5759XX

I understand J frame serial numbers from the 60s can be a bit dodgy to pin down exactly- the pistol has the "thumb" type latch so its post 66- I am guessing its about 1967 vintage?

As per request, finish is at about 95% grips match to gun. Hammer has been bobbed leaving just enough of the checkering to thumb the hammer if you wanted. I owned a model 10 years ago that had the same treatment. Pawn shop find, paid just north of $475 out the door. No idea how much these go for these days.

You're going to find these little things are amazingly accurate despite their diminutive size. Just keep your thumb away from the cylinder latch when you shoot.

Oh yeah, I carried an airweight J frame for about 10 years in an ankle hoslter when I was in LE
