Model 41 compensator

Does anyone know what S&W used for the blue/ black finish an the compensator ?
Have one that is white .

They were anodized aluminum. Unfortunately not a finish you can duplicate at home. I've never seen one in the white, was the original finish on yours removed somehow or is it original / pre-finish?

Can you post a photo? I had a complete pistol including the comp Hard Chromed a few years ago by Accurate Plating. The comp came back silver but I'm sure they anodized it as it is aluminum. Thanks

They almost look like a spray finish. I think Fountian Plating in West Springfield may have done it. They did special finishes for Smith & Wesson for years.
