PC SW22 Target Pistol

My PC SW22 shot 6 inch groups at 30 feet, this is a Performance Center pistol with a fluted barrel. I crawled over both the S&W site and the Peerformance Center site. It appears that S&W no longer offeres a fiber wrapped barrel. Does anyone know about this??

#1 thing to check is the sights. No matter the type, make sure they are secure. What ammo are you using? Many .22's are particular in their choice of ammo. Let someone else , who is a known good shot try the gun. 6" at 10 yards is not acceptable.

Need more info. Shot off of bags? Generic ammo? SV ammo? Only one brand? Try a variety of ammo. Few .22s shoot everything that they are fed well. They all have favorite ammo. Check for loose screws too. Good luck.

The sights are tight and a good friend who is an excellent shot can not improve on this performance. Intrestingly enough I sold this friend aa regular S&W 22 and he shoots 2 inch groups.

Not a good performance. At 85 and with shaking hands my 41 achieves a 3 inch group over the same distance. Maybe I have just got good timing.

Shooting off of bags. I have tried CCI SV, Federal ultra match SV and Armscorp High velocity all with the same results. Do you think that it could be bugers in the flash suppressor??

Might be a bad barrel. Could be a lot of things, rifling, crown, out of spec chamber. Sounds like you used good ammo. Give S&W a call Monday and talk to cs. Maybe talk to a performance center tech.

Somewhat off topic, but did S&W offer a carbon fiber wrapped barrel for these? I don't keep up with much these days. However, if anyone wants to give me a free one, that would be swell.

The pistol is at Smith right now, I intend on calling them today and discover their intentions. You are not the only person who responded to my post rather disapprovingly concerning the wrapped barrel, thanks for your assistance. When I get the pistol back I will post the results. What would you do with a M-41 that shoots so poorly?

To be honest, I've never seen a Model 41 that shot that badly.
