Is there anyone with information on the number guns that were produced from 1954/1974? These little guns were pretty cool for 1954,when we were still drinking beer out of steel cans. Thanks for the info.

I'd like to know also.

Picked one up, about 1970, must have carried it a zillion miles, in the field.
 
A factory letter may mention the production number, but it is not mentioned in the standard S & W reference.
 
Had one for many years but sold it to a friend when I bought a 317 3". Had to face off the front side of the firing pin a little as it would misfire DA. That cured the problem.

They were way a head of their time.
