I have a model 52-2 and I shoot about 250 rounds/month. I usually shoot reloads made at a local gun store because they are more affordable. I recently shot some older Winchester factory ammo and I have noticed that the reloads are a bit "hotter" than the older factory ammo. The owner (who makes them) tells me that they are loaded within specifications for .38 special and when he had loaded them lighter there had been issues with poor reliability in older .38 semi-autos. Can the 52-2 use any wadcutter loaded to within spec for .38 special or is a specific lighter load required? Is there any role for putting in a heavier recoil spring?
